Have you heard the news? We have teamed up with Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme to organise Soccer Stars football tournaments for SEN students across South Yorkshire.
On June 12th, Hillsborough Stadium will host SEN schools from the region for a free and competitive football tournament. The focus is on creating a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring that every child has the chance to participate and enjoy the fun of a football event.
We’re over the moon to be announcing this partnership, which aims to provide inclusive and community-driven experiences for children all while promoting physical activity and positive mental health. We’re committed to supporting both schools and their communities, and this partnership will allow us to continue that support across a new region.
The upcoming Soccer Stars tournament at Hillsborough promises a day filled with excitement – not just for the children, but for us too! With the iconic stadium as the backdrop and Olly the Owl making a special appearance, this event aims to create memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait!
What is Smile Soccer Stars?
We’re immensely proud of our other partnerships with football clubs across the Midlands, which allow us to do even more for schools and the community through our Smile Soccer Stars tournaments. Each event is held termly, and brings schools across the area together to give students of all backgrounds the chance to compete for the coveted top spot!
Both schools and children participating have commented on the positive atmosphere of the events, as well as the ability to connect with children from different schools. Not only this, but we ensure children of all abilities are able to feel proud and as though they have accomplished something amazing, through our runner-up awards commending ambition, inspiration and more.
Each child is given a medal for participating, and the event is a real hit for everyone involved. If you’d like your school to be a part of Smile Soccer Stars, we host these festivals termly, so there are plenty of chances to get involved!
Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme
The Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme was established to support cohesive community provision in Sheffield, working with schools and young people to encourage physical activity and positive mental health.
