A Day in The Life of Recruitment Resourcer, Georgia

Ever wanted to know what it's like to work in Recruitment? With so many different roles to choose from, there's a lot of scope for flexibility if you're looking to work within the industry.

If you'd consider yourself a people person and are passionate about supporting candidates in achieving their dream job, but aren't too sure about getting involved business development - you're in luck. You could find a job as a Recruitment Resourcer.

To give you a bit more of an idea of what it's like, we sat down with Georgia, who is a Resourcer at Smile Education to chat about what a day in her life looks like.

An Introduction to Georgia - a Resourcer at Smile Education

I'm Georgia, and I am a Recruitment Resourcer for one of our directors who has a desk of over 600 days. I'm currently responsible for helping find and build a pipeline of teachers and teaching assistants to work in schools across Birmingham.

When I'm not working, I read (I'm on the 3rd book of the Thursday Murder Club series at the minute and I can't put it down!), create oil paintings on canvas and I'm always listening to music.

My Morning Routine

I start work at 8:30, and my first hour at work tends to be reactive time, responding to emails and queries etc.

After that I will look at my files and see if there is any compliance that needs to be done. I do call outs to new candidates throughout the day.

I'm either really boring and get a cheese salad baguette, or if I'm feeling naughty I'll venture out for a GDK or Boston Tea Party. I always like to make sure I get outside and have a good giggle with my colleagues.

My Afternoon Routine

When I get back from lunch, I start on doing more call outs for candidates, as well as posting adverts and responding to applications.

I'll also carry out interviews in the afternoon, write up profiles and request any references I need as well as completing any compliance I need to get sorted.

After Work

I like to take a nice bubble bath and watch a movie or documentary to unwind, usually something spooky!

I'll then eat some dinner, have a snuggle with Winnie (my cat/baby) and read some of my book before getting an early night.
