We want you to ace that interview and we’ll do everything we can to make sure you do. You will have access to a whole host of resources to help make their interview, observation or trial as stress-free as possible. Take a look at some of our top tips here.
As a Smile candidate, you'll never have to worry about not getting paid. We work closely with our payroll company, People, to make sure that you are paid the right amount on time each week. Plus using People as our payroll provider gives you access to a whole host of benefits.
Who doesn't love a get together? We host a variety of networking and social events throughout the year giving you the opportunity to get to know others in the education sector over a glass or bubbly or hot tea.
Registering with Smile is a 5 step process.
Our registration process begins with a phone call where we'll ask you some questions about the type of work you are looking for and the opportunities that we have available. We'll also conduct some pre-interview safeguarding checks. Providing this all goes well, we'll then invite you to interview with us at a day and time that suits you.
We'll send you an email to confirm your interview date and time, along with a list of original documents to bring along with you (you can see a list here). You'll then receive a second email inviting you to start our compliance process online which takes around 20 minutes to complete. For an even more in-depth insight into our registration process take a look at our 'what to expect' blog.
Our face-to-face interview is conducted in two parts:
Firstly you'll meet with a member of our admin team who will verify your original documents.
Then you'll meet with your consultant. Your consultant will use this time to get to know you a little better and find out more about your skills, experience and expertise, in addition to how far you are willing to travel.
Following your interview, we will then collect your references and ensure that we have everything we need in order to make you compliant. If there is anything we're missing you may be required to meet with us again. For more information about what happens after your interview take a look at our blog.
You're now compliant and able to work for Smile in schools across the West Midlands and beyond! This means that we are able to offer you any vacancies that we have available.
*Due to the coronavirus, Right to Work checks have been relaxed which means that we currently conducting registration interviews via video and can at this time accept scanned documents. Full checks will be carried out at a later date.
