Residential Support Worker

Smile Education is a leading recruitment service for schools and residential children’s homes in the West and East Midlands. A residential setting within the Birmingham area is currently looking for a permanent Support Worker to join them.

About the role:
  • You will be supporting children aged 8-16 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties
  • You will complete an excellent introductory training programme before starting at the home in order to prepare you for your first shift
  • You will be required to work on a full-time and permanent basis in line with a rota which includes weekends, evenings and sleep-ins  
  • You will be joining an established team that has a very clear promotional structure in place for anyone who is looking for progression   
  • You will have access to regular training and accredited qualifications including Level 5 in Management
 About the home:
  • 3 bedded home located in central Birmingham (B2 4QA)
  • Renovated to a very high standard
  • Ofsted rated Good
About you:
  • You will need to be experienced supporting children who can display very challenging behaviours
  • You will need to have a minimum of 12 months experience working with children 
  • You will need to have a Level 3 in Residential Care or equivalent or be willing to undertake this qualification
  • You will need to have eligibility to work in the UK along with successfully meeting all schedule 2 checks

  • Salary Potential: £8.25 - £9.50 ph
