Smile Education are working on behalf of a Great Barr Primary School to assist them in their recruitment drive for September 2020. This two-form entry Birmingham primary school offers consistent opportunities for both experienced and Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) to progress in their careers.

We are currently searching for a Class Teacher to begin from September 2020. Year group allocation would depend on the applicant’s placement history and specialism, the gaps identified are in Y3 & Y4. Both Teach First graduates and NQTs are encouraged to apply. For more experienced practitioners TLRs are also available in core and foundation subjects- Applicants interested in TLRs must have experience successfully impacting whole school outcomes in a subject or an undergraduate subject specialism.

This North Birmingham Primary School based in the Great Barr area records attainment in line with national averages across EYFS and KS1 & KS2. Progress scores remain above the city and national averages. The setting has strong links with their surrounding community including local nurseries & feeder secondary schools. They can fully support NQTs and access will be provided to best practice settings this school has established links with, within the local area. NQTs will benefit from tailored CPD workshops and team teaching alongside experienced staff members. This local authority (LEA) maintained setting is within commute of Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall & West Bromwich, situated just off the M6.

The senior leaders and staff at this primary school promote high levels of respect. Ofsted have commented that behaviour of the students is exemplary.

If you are a Newly Qualified Primary Teacher available from September 2020, we would like to hear from you. An understanding of supporting students with complex learning needs in areas of high mobility and those in challenging socio-economic situations would be preferred. To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

• Hold a relevant UK teaching qualification with QTS

• Knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum

• Able and willing to travel to the central Birmingham area

• Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils achieve the very best through a all-inclusive curriculum
