Are you passionate about supporting young learners and eager to make a difference in their educational journey? Smile Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Smethwick. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide targeted intervention as well as whole-class support.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions to support Year 2 students in areas where they need extra help.
  • Provide general classroom support to the teacher, including assisting with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Work closely with students to support their individual learning needs and boost their confidence.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
  • Help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with primary school children, ideally in a teaching assistant role.
  • Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and common areas where students may need additional support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both individuals and small groups.
  • A patient, caring attitude and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
  • An Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if needed).
