Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Smile Education are working on behalf of a Birmingham based Primary school to assist them in the recruitment of a Tear 2 Teaching Assistant. This two-form entry primary is situated in South Birmingham currently holds an opportunity for Teaching Assistant’s looking for a change of pace.

We are currently looking for a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, available from November 2021 or earlier. This is a full-time long-term role expected to last until at least Easer 2022 with the possibility of extending further into the summer term. The successful applicant will be working with primarily lower ability pupils and some pupils with SEND. This role is ideal for anyone with 3-6 months experience working in SEND education who would like to further their knowledge and ability. A strong understanding of phonics and effective phonics intervention is essential.

This school is situated within proximity to Selly Oak, Moor Green, Stirchley, Bourneville and Birmingham City Centre. Our client records above average attainment across EYFS and KS1 & KS2. Progress scores remain above the city and national averages.

-        Hold a relevant UK teaching assistant qualification- for example Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.

-        Knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum

-        Able and willing to travel the Birmingham area
