Smile Education are proud to be supporting a mainstream primary school in Burton-on-Trent in the recruitment of an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide
1:1 support for a pupil.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and skilled individual with experience supporting children with
ADHD or those currently undergoing an ADHD diagnosis.

The Role You will be working on a
1:1 basis, supporting a pupil with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and manage their behaviour effectively.
This role requires someone who can:
- Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
- Support learning both inside and outside the classroom
- Deliver activities in line with the curriculum
- Promote positive behaviour and confidently de-escalate challenging situations
- Work independently while also contributing to the wider school team
- Liaise effectively with parents and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- A minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Health & Social Care, Teaching Assistant or similar
- Recent experience supporting children with ADHD or similar needs
- Confidence managing and supporting challenging behaviour
- The ability to fully immerse themselves in school life
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, patient and nurturing approach
Requirements:- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Smile Education
- Recent experience in a similar role
- Ability to provide relevant references
