Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in the Telford area.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and purposeful lessons.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils where required.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and other additional needs to access the curriculum.
• Helping pupils to develop their confidence, independence and learning skills.
• Assisting with classroom activities, preparation of resources and general learning support.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to monitor and encourage pupil progress.
• Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Providing pastoral support and acting as a positive role model for students.

The School Are Looking For

• Previous experience working with children or young people within an educational setting is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs would be an advantage.
• A patient, calm and positive approach to working with students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Flexibility, reliability and a professional approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
