Smile Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in the Burton upon Trent area.

This is a full-time role where you will be working across Key Stage 1, providing targeted support to pupils on a one-to-one basis as well as leading small intervention groups. The role requires someone confident in taking initiative, delivering planned activities, and effectively feeding back to the class teacher on pupil progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils across Key Stage 1 on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Lead and deliver intervention sessions to support learning outcomes
  • Work closely with the class teacher to monitor and report on progress
  • Promote a positive learning environment and encourage pupil independence
  • Effectively manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Recent UK-based school experience (essential)
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting children’s learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Curriculum
  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through Smile Education

Candidates without UK school-based experience or those with only overseas qualifications will not be considered for this role.
