Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey?
We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Tamworth. This small and supportive school places its pupils at the heart of every decision they make and is committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support a child with ASD both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Deliver engaging activities tailored to the child’s individual needs
  • Use strong behaviour management strategies to support learning and emotional regulation
  • Work independently and use your initiative throughout the school day
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, school staff, and external professionals
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for the pupil to thrive academically and socially
Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification
  • Previous experience supporting children, ideally within an educational setting
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
  • References covering the past 2 years, with at least one reference commenting on your interaction and work with children
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS through Smile Education
