  • 9:00am – 3:30pm, 2 days per week
  • 9:00am – 5:45pm, 3 days per week

Make a Difference Every Day in a Vibrant Primary School

Smile Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Support and Learning Delivery) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Grimsby area from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children's learning, wellbeing and development and enjoys working as part of a collaborative school team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils across the school, helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.

The RoleAs a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging and purposeful learning activities.
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Providing support to pupils with a range of learning needs.
  • Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Supporting classroom routines and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils remain focused and engaged.
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities.
  • Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Supporting the wider life of the school, including the After School Club.
  • Helping to provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all pupils.
After School Club Responsibilities
As part of the role, the successful candidate will work three days per week until 5:45pm to support the school's After School Club.
You will help provide a safe, engaging and enjoyable environment for children after the school day, supporting activities, routines and children's wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is committed to helping children succeed.
You will ideally have:
  • A relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within a primary school or educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, caring and nurturing approach.
  • Good classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to support pupils with a range of needs.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them reach their potential.

Requirements
To work with Smile Education, you will need:
  • A relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
  • The ability to provide two years of employment and/or education references.
  • At least one reference relating to working with children.
  • References available during the pre-screen or registration process wherever possible.
  • The right to work in the UK.

All successful candidates will complete a registration appointment with Smile Education as part of our safeguarding and compliance process.
