The RoleAs a
Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils throughout their school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting teachers with the delivery of classroom activities.
- Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Helping pupils remain focused, engaged and motivated.
- Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra help with their learning.
- Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and good learning habits.
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
- Helping to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
- Supporting pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities.
- Working effectively with teachers and other members of the support team.
The Ideal Teaching AssistantThe successful candidate will be someone who is:
- Qualified to Level 2 Teaching Assistant standard or equivalent.
- Passionate about supporting children's education and development.
- Patient, approachable and encouraging.
- Confident working with children in a primary school environment.
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, organised and proactive.
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Committed to promoting inclusion and equality.
- Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting would be highly desirable.RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you will need:
- A relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with children is desirable.
- Right to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
- Two years of satisfactory employment and/or education references, including a reference relating to working with children where applicable.
- The ability to complete Smile Education's safeguarding and compliance process.
