TEACHING ASSISTANT - SEN SPECIALIST

Smile Education are currently working on behalf of a Sutton Coldfield Primary School to assist them in the recruitment of a Key Stage 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This two-form entry Primary School situated in the leafy area of Sutton Coldfield currently holds a unique opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for experience in a mainstream school and with more able children.  

We are currently searching for a Key Stage teaching assistant who has a direct experience supporting older children with Autism. The successful applicant should be available on a full-time basis until the middle of July. Our client has allocated additional COVID-19 Catch up funding for the hiring of support staff to support in narrowing the post-lockdown gap in learning amongst pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.

This school is situated within proximity to Boldmere, Wylde Green, Erdington, Mere Green, Little Aston and Aldridge. Our client records above average attainment across EYFS and KS1 & KS2. Progress scores remain above the city and national averages.

We would like applicants to have demonstrative experience in supporting children with Autism within Key Stage 2.


To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

-          Hold a relevant qualification in supporting primary school aged children


-          Knowledge of the UK curriculum especially in Key Stage 22 core subjects


-          Able and willing to travel to the Sutton Coldfield area


-          Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils achieve the very best through an all-inclusive curriculum
