Challenging behaviour Teaching Assistant – Psychology Graduate

Smile Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a primary school in Leicester. The school are keen to meet Graduate Teaching Assistants to work with a small number of their SEN pupils in Key Stage 1, on a long-term basis.

• £65-85 per day
• School based SEN team

• Degree in Psychology or Special Educational Needs

This school have a small number of pupils who exhibit challenging behaviour in the classroom and as such require the help of a specialist Graduate Teaching Assistant who can help support, manage and motivate these pupils.

This is an extremely rewarding position as the pupils will hopefully grow and flourish under the guidance of dedicated support. However, this is not a position for everyone and ideally candidates need to have had previous experience of working with special educational needs and challenging behaviour.

The school would like to meet graduate teaching assistants that are happy to work on a long-term basis in order for the pupils to form strong working relationships and trust with the recruited Teaching Assistants.

Full support will be given from the school’s SEN department and dedicated SENCo who are there to provide training and guidance in the best way to be effective. Most importantly they are there to instil a real love of working with and developing pupils who require additional support.

The day’s activities will largely be governed by the needs of the individual pupils you work with but will include small group sessions, one-to-ones as well as whole class support.
