Supporting Children In Primary Education
Location: Walsall, Wolverhampton and surrounding areas
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children to succeed?
We are looking for reliable, confident and dedicated Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to work across a number of primary schools in Walsall, Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas.
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong SEN experience who understand how to support children with additional needs and can provide the consistency, patience and encouragement they need to thrive. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced practitioners looking for flexible work, longer-term placements or the opportunity to build strong relationships within local primary schools.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing. Depending on the school and individual needs of the pupils, your responsibilities may include:
• Supporting pupils in the classroom and during learning activities
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND/SEN)
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour
• Working alongside teachers and other support staff to provide effective learning support
• Supporting children who may require additional help with communication, behaviour, emotional regulation or learning
• Creating positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Helping to maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
We are looking for individuals who are genuinely passionate about working with children and who understand the importance of providing consistent, patient and nurturing support. You will ideally have:
• Previous experience working in a primary school or similar educational setting
• Experience supporting children with SEN, SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with children quickly
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence supporting learning and managing behaviour appropriately
• A professional and reliable attitude
• The ability to adapt to different classroom environments and pupil needs
SEN EXPERIENCE IS HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs.
Whether you have worked as an SEN Teaching Assistant, 1:1 Support Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant or in another child-focused role, your experience could be highly valuable. Mainstream primary school experience is also welcomed where candidates demonstrate the right attitude, resilience and commitment to supporting children.
