Smile Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil on a 1:1 basis in a welcoming primary school in Burntwood (WS7).
This role is mornings only and will run until the end of the summer term. The child you will be supporting is currently working at an Early Years developmental level and is not taught within the main classroom, so the role will involve providing tailored, individualised support in a quieter learning environment.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with additional needs
- Delivering structured activities suited to an Early Years developmental stage
- Supporting with communication, engagement and emotional regulation
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
- Creating a safe, positive and encouraging learning environment
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Background in Early Years or primary education is desirable
- Patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Confident supporting children outside of the main classroom environment
