Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: (M24)
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: £83.40–£100.00 per day (depends on qualifications)
Age Group: 5–11 years (Key Stage 1 and 2)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs to achieve their full potential in both academic and social development. This is a long-term role starting September 2025.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to children with a range of special educational needs (including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and emotional/behavioural challenges)
Work closely with class teachers to implement personalised learning strategies
Adapt classroom materials and activities to suit individual learning styles and needs
Support children in building communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
Help with personal care and mobility where necessary, maintaining dignity and comfort
Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the class teacher and SENCO
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
Assist with classroom management and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere

What We’re Looking For

Experience working with SEN children, preferably in a primary school setting
Background in care or support work is desirable
Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic attitude
Ability to adapt and respond calmly to challenging behaviour
Strong teamwork and communication skills
A full enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education)
