Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 3 TA Qualification Required)
Location:WS3, Walsall
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Duration: Long-term position confirmed

Smile Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 student with high complex needs at a Walsall Primary School. This is a long-term role offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on a child's educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one support to a KS2 student with high complex needs and non-verbal communication.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the student, including managing climbing behaviors.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 3 TA qualification.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Strong understanding of supporting non-verbal students and managing complex behaviors.
  • Team Teach training is preferred; however, for strong SEN Teaching Assistants, we offer Team Teach training during the first week of September.
