Smile Education is recruiting on behalf of a large and well-established SEND secondary school based in Wolverhampton. Due to continued growth and expansion, the school is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic Teaching Assistants to join its team and make a positive contribution to the lives of young people with additional needs.

The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide both academic and pastoral support to students with a range of additional needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes.
The role may involve:
- Supporting students within the classroom on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
- Supporting students with social, emotional, and communication needs
- Assisting pupils with complex behavioural and medical needs where required
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
We Are Looking For Teaching Assistants Who:
- Have experience working with or caring for children and young people with additional needs
- Have an understanding of SEND and the barriers some students face in education
- Can support pupils with complex behavioural and medical needs
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience
- Are committed to meeting the individual needs of students
- Can build positive and respectful relationships with young people
- Work effectively as part of a team whilst also using their own initiative
- Are passionate about supporting students to achieve their potential
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either professionally or in a care-based setting
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification is desirable
- A minimum of two professional references covering the last two years
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education
- The right to work in the UK
