Smile Education is collaborating with a Secondary school in Birmingham to find a passionate Science Technician for their team starting in December. The school are a community school who are dedicated to being inclusive. They have strong beliefs that every child deserves the best education possible, and they are centred around supporting their children through core values of being respectful & responsible. They have a focus on helping their local community and focus on high standards of learning & commitment. The school work closely with all staff and families to ensure the students are at the heart of what they do at all times.
You will be expected to prepare apparatus for demonstration and practical work within science classes as well as clear and tidy away equipment, ensuring it is stored safely. You will be up to date with conditions for working safely and ensure this is put into practice for every lesson. You will be experienced preparing materials in response to requests from the Science Department.
Responsibilities:
- Previous experience working within a laboratory.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well both in a team and individually.
- Ability to work alongside both adults and children
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in science, Education, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for teaching and motivating students to excel in the field of science.
