Smile Education is proud to be working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Grimsby, Hull, Denton, Cleethorpes, Buckingham, Broughton, and Droylsden. We are currently recruiting qualified Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants looking for full-time roles where they can make a real difference in children's education while becoming an integral part of a school's community. We have both immediate starts and September opportunities available.

The Role
As a Qualified Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, depending on your experience.
  • Deliver targeted one-to-one interventions and small group support.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support children with varying learning needs, helping them achieve their individual goals.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote an engaging classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff while also demonstrating confidence working independently.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred).
  • A minimum of 6 months' UK classroom experience within a primary school.
  • Experience supporting children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • A good understanding of the UK Primary Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive, proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
Requirements
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education.
  • Be able to provide two years of references, including at least one reference commenting on your experience working with children.
  • Be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK.
