Smile Education is recruiting passionate Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching Assistants to support a number of welcoming primary schools across Middlesbrough. Whether you're looking for long-term, short-term, or flexible supply work, we'd love to hear from you.
The RoleAs an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children with SEND where required.
  • Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily classroom activities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
About YouWe're looking for someone who has:
  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • A minimum of 6 months' UK experience working in a primary school or nursery.
  • Experience supporting children with a range of learning needs, including SEND (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Essential RequirementsTo be considered, you must:
  • Hold a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Have at least 6 months' UK classroom or nursery experience.
  • Be able to provide two years of professional references.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through Smile Education.
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK (please note that sponsorship is not available).

  • Do not have a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Do not have UK classroom or nursery experience.
  • Do not have the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Are unable to provide professional references.
