One-to-one SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant

Smile Education are currently working with a small secondary school in Leicester that require additional help in supporting one of their pupils in Year 10 who is new to the school but requires additional help through the day in staying on task as well as a need to manage their behaviour, which at times can be challenging.

• Based in a Leicester secondary school
• Need previous experience in a similar role
• Must be enthusiastic with a lot of initiative
• Need to be caring, understanding and resilient
• Full time, term time work – Starts in December ‘23

Our client is community secondary school in Leicester with a wide and diverse pupil base. They take inclusion very seriously and as such invest a lot of time, effort and resources in to supporting pupils with additional needs. The school’s SENCo is passionate about ensuring every pupil is given the very best education and pastoral care during their time in school.

To assist the SENCo the school are keen to meet enthusiastic LSPs/Teaching Assistants to work on a one-to-one and small group basis. There are a range of needs in the school including but not exclusively: Autism, ADHD, Asperger’s, Speech and Language, Global Delay, Learning Disabilities and mental health issues.  The specific pupil in this instance requires very close support as they adjust to their new school.

They ask that applicants have practical experience of working with young people with such needs coupled with a fantastic attitude and a willingness to get stuck in and do their very best for the pupils they work with.
