Smile Education are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a large Key Stage 2 team within a well-known, central Wolverhampton, mainstream Primary school (WV1 3AX)
. The school in question, are looking for a confident teaching assistant to work alongside a child with autism within a Year 3 class.
The child in question requires support with maths and literacy, as well as extra support when working in large groups. The role will include working with the child to improve reading and writing skills, whilst providing the support required in order for the child to thrive within a mainstream setting. Previous experience of working on a one to one basis with pupils with special educational need and/or autism is highly desirable, however individuals with suitable one to one experience will be considered.
· Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
· Previous experience working on a one to one basis with children with Special Educational Needs and/or autism is desirable, but not essential
· Working on a one to one basis with a Year 3 child with autism/SEN needs
· £75 per day
· Working as part of a supportive Key Stage 2 team to support a child with special educational needs within a mainstream setting
This is a full-time position with a start date after the Easter holidays (April), within a central Wolverhampton mainstream Primary School. The perfect candidate will be a confident and compassionate teaching assistant, who is able to engage with a Year 3 child with autism, encouraging their development within a mainstream setting. The ideal candidate will have a teaching assistant qualification (level 2/3 or equivalent) and have previous experience of working on a one to one basis.
