This welcoming and highly supportive school requires Teaching Assistants on a regular basis to cover staff absence, training courses, and to support a growing number of students joining the school throughout the year.
About the SchoolThe school provides specialist education for students with a wide range of additional needs and supports pupils from across eight local authorities.
Students may have:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Sensory impairments
- Non-verbal communication needs

The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff within the classroom. Depending on the needs of the school, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis
- Delivering small group interventions
- Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
- Supporting students with communication, social and emotional development
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
You will be based within a class alongside multiple Teaching Assistants, providing excellent support and opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues.
We Are Looking For Candidates Who:
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting
- Have an interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Are patient, caring and adaptable
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Are confident using their own initiative when required
- Are looking to gain valuable experience within education
- Are available for flexible work throughout the academic year
