Learning Support Assistant

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Setting: Further Education (Ages 16–25)

Smile Education is currently recruiting a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant further education setting in Walsall from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young adults with a range of needs and help them achieve success in their educational journey.

About the Role: The successful candidate will:
  • Provide 1:1 support to a variety of students aged 16–25 across the curriculum
  • Cover staff absences throughout the setting as required
  • Support students during lessons and promote social interaction during break and lunch periods
  • Work flexibly and independently to adapt to the needs of individual learners and classroom environments
What We’re Looking For:
  • A minimum Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent relevant to education)
  • Recent experience working in a similar role within an educational environment
  • A confident, flexible, and proactive individual capable of working independently
  • A strong understanding of how to support students with additional needs
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through Smile Education
An induction day will take place in August to prepare successful candidates for the role.
