Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 Autism Support
Location: Birmingham
Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Start Date: Immediate

A supportive and inclusive primary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a young girl with autism. This is a highly rewarding position where you will play a key role in helping her grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will:
  • Provide consistent, nurturing support to a primary-aged pupil with autism.
  • Help develop her confidence, communication skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Adapt learning activities and resources to ensure she can access the curriculum.
  • Encourage independence and establish a positive, trusting relationship.
  • Work in close partnership with the class teacher and SEN team.
  • Contribute to a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.
About You We welcome applications from candidates who are:
  • Caring, patient, and understanding in their approach.
  • Knowledgeable or experienced with autism/SEN (advantageous, not essential).
  • Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Strong communicators who build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Reliable, resilient, and enthusiastic about supporting child development.
  • Looking for a meaningful role—ideal for experienced LSAs, SEN TAs, psychology graduates, childcare workers, or anyone with a genuine interest in SEN.
