Smile Education is proud to be partnering with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the WA2 area of Warrington. Renowned for its strong sense of community and dedication to inclusive learning, the school provides a caring and stimulating environment where all children, particularly those with additional needs, are supported to thrive.

We are currently looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team, providing essential support to pupils from EYFS to Year 2 with a range of special educational needs.


Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: WA2, Warrington
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: £83.40 – £100.00 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time


About the Role:
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support tailored to children with SEN, including autism, speech and language needs, and social/emotional challenges
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help children access learning, build independence, and grow in confidence
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to support emotional regulation
  • Track and report on pupil progress and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or care setting
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or health and social care is desirable
  • A calm, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with young learners
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Smile Education)
