HLTA & SEN Teaching Assistants Required – September 2026 Starts
Location: Stockton-on-Tees

Smile Education is recruiting experienced and dedicated education professionals to join a number of welcoming primary schools across Stockton-on-Tees for September 2026.
We have the following vacancies available:

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Year 2 (Full-Time)
SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time
SEN Teaching Assistant – Mornings Only

These are fantastic opportunities to join supportive school environments where you can make a real difference to children's education and development.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

A recognised HLTA qualification (for the HLTA role) or relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications and experience.
A minimum of 6 months' UK school experience.
Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
A positive, proactive, and child-centred approach.

Essential Requirements

Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service.
The right to work in the UK.
Two years of professional references, including experience working with children.
Availability to start in September 2026.
Please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship for these positions.
