A school in
Hyde is looking for a confident, experienced and enthusiastic
SEN KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their specialist resource base.
About the Role You will be working as part of a supportive team consisting of
1 Teacher and 4 Teaching Assistants, supporting a group of 13 children with a range of additional needs.
The children may have:
- Sensory needs
- Non-verbal communication
- Communication barriers
- Physical needs
- Challenging behaviours, including hitting and biting as a result of communication difficulties
This role would suit someone who has genuine experience working with children with additional needs and who is confident supporting children with complex needs and behaviours.
The school is looking for someone who is
confident, resilient, proactive and willing to get stuck in. You will need to have a calm and patient approach, while also being confident in managing behaviour and responding appropriately to individual needs.
What We're Looking For The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience working with children with SEN
- Strong knowledge and understanding of additional needs
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with children
- A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved
- Relevant qualifications and experience to work within a UK school

next week. This will give you the opportunity to meet the staff, spend time with the children and experience the resource base environment before starting.
The successful candidate will be expected to start in approximately
two weeks.
