The school provides a highly supportive, sensory-rich environment tailored to pupils with a range of additional needs, including complex learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.
The Role You will be supporting pupils within the
Early Years sensory provision, working closely with the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team to provide tailored, child-centred support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting children with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting with sensory-based learning activities
- Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and behaviour
- Promoting independence, engagement and positive social interaction
- Contributing to planning and adapting activities to meet individual needs
- Being fully immersed in school life and supporting the wider team
This role requires commitment, resilience and a genuine passion for SEN.
The Ideal Candidate Will:- Hold a relevant qualification (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
- Have UK-based experience supporting children with additional needs (essential)
- Have sound knowledge and understanding of SEN, including supporting challenging behaviour
- Be able to commit to full-time hours until the end of the academic year
- Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the team and pupils
- Be confident working both collaboratively and independently
- Demonstrate a positive, proactive “can-do” attitude
- Show willingness to fully immerse themselves in school life
