Smile Education are proud to be supporting a Halesowen Primary School in the recruitment and appointment of an outstanding 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join them on a full-time basis.

The Headteacher and wider leadership team wish to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join them on a full time, long-term basis with an immediate start date available.

This role involves supporting two ASD pupils in Year 2, following bespoke learning plans for each child. The successful candidate will work closely with the school SENCO, supporting the individual needs of each child, including developing speech and language skills, as well as their academic growth.  

Role and Responsibilities:

-        Provide 1:1 support to two ASD pupils in Year 2
-        Full time role (Monday – Friday)
-        AM/PM split between the 2 pupils
-        Monitor pupil progression against individual learning goals
-        Follow bespoke learning plans for each child
-        Collaborate closely with the class teacher ad SENCO

Qualifications and Experience:

-        Previous experience of working with children with ASD is essential
-        Level 2 or Level 3 relevant qualification (Supporting Teaching and Learning / Childcare)
-        Excellent verbal communication skills
-        Ability to follow and adapt to individual pupil needs
-        A patient and nurturing approach to supporting children with ASD
