Yr3 Primary Teacher - Birmingham
Smile Education are working with a Birmingham primary school that are looking to recruit a Year 3 class teacher from January. They are looking to take a teacher on contract for a term or two before offering a permanent contract, for this reason they are only interested in primary teachers who are looking for permanent position.
The school is a one-form entry, Church of England primary school with a diverse pupil base, based close to Handsworth Wood. They are looking for an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher who has, ideally, got at least a year’s previous experience teaching a Year 3 class. Due to financial constraints they are ideally looking at teacher on M2-M4. The school are already supporting a number of NQTs and for this reason they can’t consider one for this role.
Having visited the school and spent time with the headteacher last week I was really impressed with atmosphere in the school, the fantastic classrooms and all the staff I met. Given it’s a one-form entry primary the school is a good size, with large outside areas for the pupils to play in and at times study.
The school is an integral part of the local community giving it a personal feel. Given the diverse background of their pupils the school welcome teachers who embrace the rewards and challenges this creates.
