Unqualified SEND Teacher

Smile Education is recruiting for an Unqualified Teacher to support a secondary school in the Sandwell area. This is a full-time role starting in September for at least the first term, with a strong potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the personal development of pupils.
  • Take responsibility for the development and delivery of the curriculum.
  • Marking and Planning will be required
  • Maintain accurate records and liasies with SLT team.
  • Track student progress.
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and student progress reports.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and carers.
Person Specification Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum Grade C (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English.
  • A 2:1 degree desirable
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Recent experience of teaching student across Secondary with SEND.
Experience
The successful candidate will have:
  • At least one year of experience in a teaching environment with SEND.
  • Experience leading and managing a class.
  • Confidence in teaching or leading lessons independently.
  • Proven ability to plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to individual needs.
  • Experience in setting appropriate learning objectives.
  • Ability to monitor and record academic development.
  • Experience marking work against the national curriculum standards.
