About the Role We’re looking for caring, resilient, and proactive individuals to join
SEN school settings across Wolverhampton and the Black Country as
Teaching Assistants.
You’ll be supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs — from autism and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs to communication difficulties — helping them to thrive both academically and personally.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to transition into education from a care-based or child-focused background. No teaching qualifications are required — just a genuine passion for supporting young people and the ability to build strong, positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional needs
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social development
• Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored learning support
• Help create a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Who We’re Looking For • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (any setting considered)
• Backgrounds in care, residential, or youth work are highly valued
• Excellent communication and empathy skills
• Patient, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to working with children
• Commitment to supporting the educational and emotional development of every pupil
