SMILE Education are recruiting on behalf of a secondary special school in Wolverhampton, part of The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust, for a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant.
This full-time role involves supporting pupils with a range of complex additional needs, helping them to engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged students
  • Support pupils with ADHD, ASD, SEMH, PMLD, and challenging behaviour
  • Assist teachers in delivering differentiated and engaging lessons
  • Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and personal care where required
  • Implement behaviour support strategies in line with school policies
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Recent experience supporting students with special educational needs
  • Experience working with ADHD, ASD, SEMH, PMLD, and challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • A strong interest and aptitude in coding, gaming, and computers, using technology to engage and motivate learners
  • The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students
