Smile Education is seeking a dedicated and confident Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded Wolverhampton school from January, working on a full-time basis.
About the Role We are looking for someone who can:
  • Confidently support students with a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Fully immerse themselves in school life, contributing to a supportive, uplifting learning environment.
  • Bring a positive, proactive attitude to enhance pupils’ learning and overall school experience.
About the School
  • A warm, welcoming, and well-respected school within the local community.
  • Educates pupils from Early Years through to Key Stage 2.
  • Classes are grouped by ability rather than age, meaning groups will be mixed-age.
  • Strong relationships with parents and carers, creating a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A relevant qualification related to working with children or supporting learning.
  • UK-based school experience, with a reference that specifically comments on your interaction with children.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Smile Education.
  • Confidence, resilience, and a passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
