Smile Education are proud to be working in partnership with a dedicated SEN specialist school based in Shropshire, supporting them in their search for a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after October half term.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in a nurturing and inclusive setting.
About the role:
  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team to deliver individualised learning and care plans.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils engage and achieve their full potential.
  • Creating a positive and safe learning environment that promotes emotional and social development.
About you:
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent).
  • Have recent experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally within a specialist or mainstream school setting.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting additional needs.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
