Smile Education are recruiting on behalf of a specialist Alternative Provision near Hagley for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with severe and complex needs in a nurturing, creative and outdoor-focused environment. Every day is different – students rotate 1:1 support to help them develop communication and life skills in a truly unique setting.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 support for children with severe and complex needs.
- Rotate across students to promote engagement, communication, and independence.
- Spend around 60% of the time outdoors in specialist facilities including:
- Blacksmiths workshop
- Woodwork studio
- Forest school land
- Farm with animals
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
- A supportive, close-knit team passionate about SEND education.
- A creative and therapeutic learning environment.
- The opportunity to work in a hands-on, practical and highly rewarding role.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (desirable).
- A patient, resilient and compassionate nature.
- Willingness to be outdoors and take part in practical learning activities.
- Commitment to working full-time, term time only
