SEND Learning Support Assistant

Smile Education is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work with children from Early Years to Key Stage 4 across schools in Wolverhampton. These positions are to support schools with staff absences and would be perfect for individuals seeking part-time or flexible work – ideal for those with other commitments such as university or college studies.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be working closely with students who may have a range of needs, including:
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Complex Needs
  • Physical Disabilities
You’ll be providing one-to-one and group support, ensuring that all pupils can access learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must:
  • Hold a relevant qualification for working with children
  • Have UK-based experience in a similar role
  • Be able to provide two years of references, with at least one reference commenting on your work with children
  • Be confident working independently, yet also able to take direction and work collaboratively in a professional team
  • Be comfortable providing personal care support where required
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new one through Smile Education
