SEND Learning Support Assistant

Smile Education is proud to be working in partnership with a warm and inclusive SEND Primary School in Wolverhampton, currently looking to recruit a Learning Support Practitioner to work on a 1:1 basis with Key Stage 1 pupils.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing team, providing essential support to children with a wide range of special educational needs including Autism, SEMH, PMLD, Sensory processing difficulties, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
The position is initially to cover staff absence and training days, with the potential to become a long-term role for the right candidate.
About You:
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a relevant childcare or education-related course (essential)
    (Unqualified applicants or those with unrelated qualifications will not be considered)
  • Recent experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a school or nursery setting
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic nature, with a genuine passion for supporting young learners
  • Confident in working 1:1 and adapting to a variety of complex needs
  • Must have an enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education
