enthusiastic, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in the
West Bromwich.
This is a fantastic
long-term maternity cover opportunity, ideal for someone looking to build meaningful experience working closely with students and make a genuine difference to their education and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will provide
1:1 support to students with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop their confidence and make progress in the classroom.
About the roleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to students with additional needs.
- Support students to access and engage with their learning.
- Assist with intervention work to help students develop key academic and social skills.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider support team to meet individual student needs.
- Help students develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
- Adapt your approach according to individual needs and learning styles.
- Support students both inside and outside the classroom where required.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Previous SEN or Teaching Assistant experience is desirable but not essential. We are also keen to hear from graduates and candidates with relevant transferable experience, particularly those who have worked with children, young people or individuals with additional needs.
