About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant- Start Date: Immediate
- Location: Cheshire
- Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other additional learning needs. You’ll provide
1:1 and small group support, helping students achieve their full academic and social potential in a safe, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored support to students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Implement strategies outlined in students’ EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
- Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students
- Carry out personal care duties when required
- Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:- Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Psychology degree, or equivalent)
- Experience supporting individuals with SEN (in education, care, or voluntary settings)
- Calm, patient, and compassionate approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
