Looking to start or develop your career in education? We are currently recruiting for a
full-time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Birmingham.
This is an exciting
temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to move into a permanent position for the right candidate.
The school is looking for someone who is
passionate about supporting young people, works well as part of a team and is keen to make a positive difference. You don't need to have years of experience – the school is open to applications from both
new and experienced Teaching Assistants.
About the Role
The role will primarily involve
classroom-based support, rather than working exclusively with one individual student.
You will work alongside teachers and the wider SEND team to support students with a range of additional needs across the classroom. A significant proportion of the SEND provision includes students with
SEMH and ADHD, so the ability to build positive relationships and provide calm, consistent support is important.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students with SEND across the classroom.
- Working alongside teachers to help students access learning.
- Providing encouragement and support to students who may experience barriers to learning.
- Supporting students with SEMH, ADHD and a range of other additional needs.
- Helping students develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Working closely with the SEND team and teaching staff.
- Helping to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Supporting students to remain engaged and focused during lessons.
Who We're Looking ForThe school is
not looking for a specific level of experience – personality, attitude and the ability to work well with students and colleagues are key.
You could be:
- An experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity.
- A recent graduate looking to begin a career in education.
- Someone who has recently completed a relevant qualification.
- A candidate with transferable experience working with children or young people.
- Someone already working in education who wants to develop their SEND experience.
Most importantly, you'll be
