The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other additional needs.
  • Work on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, ensuring pupils are fully engaged in learning and achieving their targets.
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to deliver individualised learning plans.
  • Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Undertake training and professional development to enhance your SEN expertise.
  • Provide personal care support when required.


About You

To be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will need:
  • A Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification, or a degree-level education.
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN or in a care environment.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • A proactive attitude and genuine passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
