The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
As a
Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other additional needs.
- Work on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, ensuring pupils are fully engaged in learning and achieving their targets.
- Collaborate closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to deliver individualised learning plans.
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
- Undertake training and professional development to enhance your SEN expertise.
- Provide personal care support when required.
About YouTo be successful in this
SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will need:
- A Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification, or a degree-level education.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN or in a care environment.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
