Smile Education is proud to be working in partnership with an outstanding specialist school in Dudley to recruit a dedicated Level 2/3 SEN Teaching Assistant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected setting that is passionate about providing exceptional education and care for children and young people with additional needs.

Our partner school is a well-established specialist setting for pupils aged 5–16 with a range of complex special educational needs and disabilities. Every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school provides highly personalised support to enable every learner to achieve their individual potential.

The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including:
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Physical disabilities and medical needs
  • Sensory needs
  • Associated social, emotional and behavioural needs
At the heart of the school is a commitment to ensuring every child feels safe, valued and empowered to succeed. The curriculum is carefully adapted to meet individual needs, with a strong emphasis on communication, independence, personal development, emotional wellbeing and preparation for adulthood. Pupils are encouraged to become confident, resilient learners, and every achievement is recognised and celebrated.

Staff work collaboratively with families, therapists and other professionals to create a nurturing environment where pupils are supported to flourish both academically and personally.

The Role
  • Support pupils within the classroom and during wider school activities.
  • Deliver personalised learning support under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that help pupils feel secure and engaged.
  • Encourage communication, independence and positive social interaction.
  • Promote positive behaviour through consistent, nurturing approaches.
  • Support pupils with personal care and physical needs where required.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to achieve the very best outcomes for every learner.
We're Looking For Someone Who
  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Has experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • Is patient, caring, adaptable and resilient.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to inclusive education and achieving positive outcomes for every child.
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
