SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Primary SEN School)
Location: Worcester
Pay: £90 – £110 per day (Based on experience)
Contract: Full-time opportunity, Monday–Friday until the end of the academic year.

Smile Education is proud to be supporting a welcoming and nurturing primary SEN school that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to support children with a range of special educational needs, helping them to engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals. The role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young learners.

The Role

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs including Autism, communication and interaction needs, and moderate to complex learning difficulties.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support throughout the school day.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning programmes.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Foster pupil independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, support staff, and parents/carers.
• Record observations and contribute to pupil progress reviews.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (minimum 3 months).
• Previous experience supporting Autism is highly desirable.
• Experience within a school, care, nursery, youth work, or support setting is advantageous.
• Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to supporting children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Committed to full-time work and able to provide consistency for pupils.
• Able to provide a minimum of two references covering the past two years, including one that comments on your work with children or young people.
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education.
