SEN Teacher – The RoleAs a
SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with
Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
You will:
- Teach small groups of secondary-age students with a range of special educational needs
- Develop and deliver personalised schemes of work and lesson plans
- Act as a Personal Tutor to students, ensuring progress and pastoral care
- Work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and support staff to implement individual learning plans
- Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Support the wider school community through collaboration and best practice sharing
This is a
full-time, permanent SEN Teacher position, starting immediately.
SEN Teacher – Person SpecificationWe are looking for a dedicated, adaptable, and compassionate teacher who is committed to supporting students with a range of learning needs. You will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching students with SEND / SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or MLD experience desirable)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to inspire and engage students through creative and differentiated teaching
- A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education)
- The right to work in the UK
Both
experienced SEN Teachers and
teachers from mainstream settings with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
