SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Complex SEN & Behaviour) Location: B34
Pay: £90 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday – Until the end of the academic year (with potential to extend) ASAP Start

Smile Education is working in partnership with a large, high-need primary school in B34 seeking a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs and extremely challenging behaviour.
This role requires patience, consistency and a genuine commitment to supporting children with significant additional needs.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEN
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
• Implement structured routines and behaviour plans consistently
• Assist the class teacher with adapting learning materials
• Use multi-sensory and practical learning approaches
• Support personal care if required
• Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils
• Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
• Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times

Consistency is essential, as pupils benefit from predictable routines and dependable adults.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months’ experience supporting Autism or complex SEN
• Experience working with challenging behaviour
• Calm, patient and resilient personality
• Strong communication skills
• Team player who can follow structured plans
• Able to commit full-time
• 2 references covering the past 2 years (one must comment on working with children)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
• Team Teach or behaviour management training desirable but not essential
